Training Programs

Obedience Training

Obedience training is a 7 week program.

During this time your dog will learn and have a solid recall, place commend, whoa (upland dogs), crate, down, sit, heel, walk on lead, E-collar conditioning and learning impulse control!

Bird and Gun Introduction

This is a 3 week program designed to give your dog lots of positive bird bird exposure while gradually overlaying gunfire with the joy and excitement that the birds give the dogs. Gun intro should never be rushed, because it is very hard to bring a dog back from being gun shy if not impossible in some cases. Better to start them off on the right foot then deal with a mess later down the line.

Basic Hunting Training

This program can be for Upland Hunting or Waterfowl or both, can include Bird and Gun Intro and lasts 6-7 weeks. After graduating this program your dog will be ready to rock and roll for it's first hunting season / natural ability test. This program includes, depending on specialty, Field/Water work, Steady to Flush, Intro to Tracking, Conditioning and Marking.

Advanced Hunting Training

This program is very much based off of your goals for your dog, whether it is Steadiness to Shot and Fall, Honoring, Trained Retrieve, Blood Tracking, Drags or any Test or Test specific items.

Pre Season Tune UP

This is a great chance to get your dog back in shape for the upcoming season. We will be running on wild birds as much the weather permits us. With a couple weeks in the north woods running Grouse and woodcock your dog will be primed and ready to go for the season!

Boarding

Going on vacation? Send your dog to us. We treat every dog as our own. Every dog has it's own 4x6 run and raised bed in a heated and air conditioned kennel, group outside run and plenty of socialization! Price per day for boarding is $45.

Training and Boarding Requirements

These requirements are for the health and safety of not only your dog, but of all dogs here at Granite State Gun Dogs. If any medical issues were to arise during your dogs stay, we will of course notify you immediately and can seek veterinary assistance at the the owners expense unless otherwise specified. I ask that you forward your dogs vet records to me ahead of your drop off date. They can be sent to Granitestategundogs@gmail.com

All Dogs must have:

  • Flea and Tick Preventative

  • Heartworm Medication

  • DAPP vaccines

  • Rabies

  • Bordetella Vaccine (Kennel Cough)

  • Leptospirosis Vaccine

Pricing 

All programs are $350 per week. This includes all training, boarding, birds and food. If your dog requires a special diet food then you will need to provide it, otherwise we feed Inuksuk 32/32 or the Marine 25 for our very active dogs.
